THE Imperial Bar will turn the clock back this weekend with an 'Appleby's Special' to be held in aid of dad-of-two Steve White battle against a life-threatening brain tumour.

The Ormskirk Street venue will host the event this Saturday night, from 9pm until 2am.

As the Star has reported, Steve White, 44 from Eccleston, was diagnosed with an aggressive stage four life-threatening tumour called glioblastoma multiforme wild-type in July last year.

He did not realise he was living with the life limiting condition until he suffered three seizures while away celebrating his 16th wedding anniversary with his wife Katheryn.

This resulted in his lungs collapsing and him being put into a medically induced coma before eventually being diagnosed with the condition, which has a survival rate of six to 18 months.

After extensive chemotherapy and radiotherapy treatment, which he was told would only slightly extend his life, Steve started looking into alternative options, including finding immunotherapy.

However, because this can cost thousands of pounds and is not available on the NHS his wife Katheryn started a GoFundMe page, which has raised tens of thousands of pounds already and has a £200,000 overall target.

Lee Turner will be the DJ on the night at the Imperial along with special guests.

The event is pay on the door and all entrance donations on Saturday will go towards Steve's fund.
