BEST-SELLING author Carol Drinkwater will will be at Chester Lane Library later this month to talk about her latest novel The Lost Girl.

Carol, best known for her award-winning portrayal of Helen Herriot in the television adaptation of All Creatures Great and Small, will call in at the library in Sutton Manor on Friday, July 28.

The Sunday Times best-seller will discuss her latest page turner, The Lost Girl, a heart-rending story of loss and enduring love.

Anglo-Irish author Carol, 69 is also the writer of popular memoirs about her experiences on her olive farm in Provence.

She has also penned a number of children's books, with her first, The Haunted School, produced as a television mini-series.

There will be an opportunity to buy signed copies of Carol’s latest novel at the end of the talk at Chester Lane Library.

Also an actress, Carol has also starred in numerous television series and films including Chocky, Bouquet of Barbed Wire, Another Bouquet and Golden Pennies, A Clockwork Orange and An Awfully Big Adventure.

Tickets for the talk, which starts at 7pm, cost £4, or £3 for library members, which includes light refreshments.
