A NEW healthy eating company is celebrating after launching its "clean, tasty and affordable fast food" to the public.

Prep Boxx, which was founded by brother and sister duo Anthony and Jemma Bond on Westfield Street offers nutritious and healthy meals that are made from fresh on site.

The company offer hot boxes to eat in and take away from their five-step menu, where customers choose their box size, base, protein, side and then sauce.

They also serve a range of salads, fruit pots, protein bars and healthy snacks and drinks, as well as catering for breakfasts from 8am.

The restaurant, which includes free Wi-Fi for customers will be open from Monday to Friday from 8am to 8pm and Saturdays from 9am to 6pm.

Jemma, 35, said: “We felt that the town needed somewhere which served affordable healthy meals which are full of flavour as well as nutrition.

“We only use the best quality ingredients from suppliers who we know well and who meet our high-quality standards and our products are all sourced locally where possible.

“We do not add salt to our cooking and our professional chef uses the natural flavours of the foods to enhance the taste, meaning that our food is served as clean and healthy as possible.

“Our aim is to show St Helens that the common misconception that healthy food is bland and boring is wrong, and that it can in fact be very exciting and tasty.”

Any leftover salads, fruits and cooked meats at the end of each day are also being dropped off at shelters in the borough as well as the Salvation Army and Salisbury House.

Prep Boxx also offer weekly prepared meal plans for customers.

Jemma added: “We have decided to provide this as we understand that people have busy life styles and none of us want to finish our working day and have to prep and cook at home.

“So we can provide weekly prep meals for those who wish to remove the need to plan, shop and cook but want to eat healthy.”

Prep Boxx is offering a 10 per cent discount on hot boxes and salads for all public service staff such as emergency services and the council.

To receive the discount relevant identification is required.
