A 35-YEAR-OLD woman accused of murdering her partner has been acquitted by a jury today (Thursday).
A tearful Karolina Rutkowska, of Cross Farm Road, Peasley Cross, was found not guilty by the jury of murdering her partner with a single stab wound to the heart by a 10-1 majority.
The verdict followed a two-week trial and two days of jury deliberations.
Karolina Rutkowska, who is Polish, pleaded not guilty to the charge of murder, despite admitting that she stabbed her partner Mireslaw Kowalczuk which led to his death.
The case was to determine whether or not she intended to harm or kill her partner of two years, also from Poland, after he suffered a wound to the chest on December 27 last year.
The 11 men and women of the jury acquitted the mum-of-one just 30 minutes after Judge Menary QC asked them for a majority verdict.
