PLANS to turn a warehouse into an auction house in Newton-le-Willows have been given the green light by council planners.
The proposals, submitted in April by Karen Fairweather of Omega Auctions, will see unit 4 of the Sankey Valley Industrial Estate on Anglezarke Road converted.
According to the planning application the auction house will specialise "in vinyl records and entertainment memorabilia".
It is intended for 10 to 12 auctions to be held at the premises per year typically on a Tuesday, with viewings the day before. Two sales of antiques and collectables are also held by Omega Auctions each year.
The unit will be open to the public from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm by
appointment, although it is expected most activity will take place in the week of an auction.
Proposed opening hours are Monday to Saturday from 9am to 6pm.
