A NIGHT of the music of Swedish supergroup Abba - well, half of Abba - is being held at Haresfinch Social Club.

A tribute act to just the female members of the band, which won Eurovision with Waterloo in 1974, will perform a show on Saturday, June 24.

Presented by Ultimate Artistes, Danni Britch, from Carr Mill, performs as Agnetha and Courtnay Reddy will be Anni-Frid.

Danni, 24, said: "It will be great fun, we do all of Abba's best-loved songs. The atmosphere will be really upbeat so we're hoping to have lots of dancing queens on the floor.

"I'm really looking forward to playing in my home town. We travel up and down the country and also abroad performing our Abba show, and an '80s show and '90s show."

Six years ago, the ex-Rainford High pupil competed in the Miss Cheshire contest, and, after missing out on the crown, was named Miss Popularity after amassing the highest number of public votes in the competition.

Danni, who has trained at the Elizabeth Hill Dance School since the age of four, is a granddaughter of the late Roy Britch, a long-serving amateur rugby league official,

The event, entitled 'Re-Arrival - A Tribute To Abba', takes place at Haresfinch Social Club on June 24, with doors opening at 7.30pm. Tickets, costing £5, will be available on the door.
