TO mark National Volunteers Week, Willowbrook Hospice is thanking all of their volunteers for their "amazing work" - and looking for more volunteers.

As well as supporting the services at the hospice, the volunteers also help to raise the £4 million-plus needed each year to continue to care for people and their families across St Helens and Knowsley.

Willowbrook's volunteer co-ordinator Ian Turnbull said: “Our volunteers support our departments all across the hospice from welcoming patients and visitors at Willowbrook’s reception to providing admin and clerical duties, driving patients to and from the hospice and gardening."

He added: "There are so many different roles at Willowbrook Hospice, there really is something for everyone and people don’t be in the hospice to help the hospice. Whether people can offer a few hours, half a day or more, volunteering can fit around other commitments and for some roles there are no set hours or times."
