A WOMAN who took care of two girls after the Manchester Arena terrorist attack - taking them to hospital and running them home - has been praised on social media.

The good Samaritan, named locally at Ann Ellison from St Helens, is credited with looking after two young girls after the attack on Monday, May 22, which claimed 22 lives and injured dozens more.

After a Facebook plea from Louise Speakman, who appears to be the mum of at least one of the girls, the public tracked down the kind lady.

The post online, by Louise, which was shared on various platforms said: “I don't know if this will reach the right person but thank you so much to Ann the lady who looked after Ellie and Claudia after the attack in Manchester last night and for bringing them home to mine after they had been treated in hospital last night.

“I am hoping with the power of Facebook this will reach her. All I know is she lives in St Helens and I think she is a counsellor.”

More than 2,900 people liked the post which received more than 20,000 shares.

After finding Ann, Louise added: “Thank you all for your comments. It was Ann Ellison who looked after the girls and brought them home safely.

“At times like this it restores your faith in human nature, to see how everyone is pulling together and offering all this help in various ways is truly amazing.

“Thanks to everyone involved. My heartfelt sympathy to all those who have lost loved ones or have injuries. It's tragic.”
