AN ANNUAL bike ride in memory of the 96 victims of the Hillsborough disaster starting at Sutton Leisure takes place this weekend.
The 'Ride for the 96' is a charity event in memory of the Liverpool FC fans who lost their lives in the stadium disaster on April 15, 1989.
The ride, which covers 96km through countryside is organised in conjunction with British Cycling.
It is open to anyone to enter, and all of entrance fees and sponsorship monies go to charity.
For the 2017 ride, which takes place this Sunday (May 28), funds will be split evenly between Alder Hey Children's charity and ex-Liverpool player Jamie Carragher's 23 Foundation, which helps youth projects and charitable causes in Merseyside.
Meanwhile, 10 lucky riders will be selected at random to receive some extremely valuable memorabilia courtesy of Jamie Carragher's 23 Foundation.
