ST Helens Camera Club feel they are really in the picture after new “bigger and better exhibition” space in the World of Glass.

The exhibition, which covers a wide range of areas from landscapes and portraits to wildlife and sport, is based in the Godfrey Pilkington Gallery but also spreads across the mezzanine and other areas.

One of the big new features is a projector that highlights the digital entries for the

annual competition with 163 images displayed on a rotating basis.

Committee member John Fairclough, said: “Since the Gamble Institute closed a few years ago we’ve been looking for a suitable venue for our exhibitions but none have really been satisfactory.

“But now we have been given lots of space in the World of Glass and we have the chance to display our members’ work properly and show just what they can do.

“Ron, the Executive Director, and Hannah, the Curator have really taken us to their hearts and we’re hoping this can now become a permanent home for our annual shows.

“Nothing has been too much trouble for their team and we’re hoping visitors will really enjoy the way our work is displayed.”

John added that the club is always happy to offer advice and guidance to newcomers saying: “We are always happy to welcome new members of any age to our club.”

The Camera Club exhibition ends on June 23.
