He also pleaded guilty to causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
Appearing alongside him was co-accused Dean Brennan, 27, from Prescot, who pleaded guilty to aggravated vehicle taking and assisting an offender by obtaining a passport for McAteer.

Both defendants bowed their heads and spoke only to confirm their guilty pleas.

Violet-Grace's family were in the courtroom for the hearing with her mum crying after they announced the charge of causing death by dangerous driving.

Judge Dennis Watson QC has scheduled sentencing for May 19.

He said the defendants should both expect "lengthy sentences". McAteer and Brennan were both remanded in custody.
