A 17-YEAR-OLD boy from Rainhill - who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder in connection with a series of stabbings in St Helens - has been bailed by police.

However, detectives cotinue to question two other suspects over the incident that happened at the rear of The Phoenix pub, off Canal Street.

They are an 18-year-old man from Liverpool, who was arrested on suspicion of attempted murderm, and a 21-year-old man from Huyton, who is being questioned on suspicion of assault.

At about 5.25pm emergency services were called to Liverpool Road, close to the Shere Khan takeaway, to a report that a man had been stabbed - one is believed to have staggered up to Bridge Street. 

The three victims are now at hospital where they are being treated for their injuries. 

One, a 20-year-old man is in a critical condition, while two others, aged 18 and 21, are described as being in a stable condition.
