Emergency services were called at 8.15am today
A 12-YEAR-OLD boy is in hospital with a head injury after a crash between his bike and a saloon-type car early this morning.
Emergency services were called at 8.15am today, Monday, April 24, to the scene on St Helens Linkway, close to Sutton Academy, where the boy was found to be "conscious and breathing".
An ambulance took him to Alder Hey Children’s Hospital, but a police spokesman has stated that his injuries are "not believed to be serious".
A section of the road was closed following the incident, but is now reopened.
