THE award-winning production Let’s Hang On, endorsed by Frankie Valli himself, celebrates the music of one of pop music’s most successful bands of all time.
The production, which follows the prolific career of Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, is coming to the Theatre Royal on Saturday, May 13.
It tells the story of the blue-collar boys from the wrong side of the tracks who wrote their own songs, invented their own sound and took the world by storm, before reaching the age of 30.
Let’s Hang On goes back to where it began, with tracks from the early ‘50s when Frankie joined the group. Then, with the addition of Bob Gaudio – today recognised as one of the greatest song writers of all time – even more classic early material is recreated.
The band also puts on a rare live acapella performance, as the stage is transformed into a New Jersey street corner.
The second part sees non-stop hits including December ‘63, Beggin’, Can’t Take My Eyes Off You, Grease, Working My Way Back To You, and Bye Bye Baby.
The show leads to an electrifying finale when out come the retro red jackets and the legendary falsetto vocal blows the roof off with Sherry, Walk Like A Man and Big Girls Don’t Cry.
Theatre manager Chantelle Nolan said: “Let’s Hang On have established themselves as the greatest Frankie Valli tribute act and we are certain they will have the audience dancing all night long.”
The show starts at 7.30pm with tickets £23 or £22 concession. Book in person or call 756000 or sthelenstheatreroyal.com.
