MATTY Smith will return to the Saints side for Friday night’s Super League clash at home to Warrington.
The club’s key off-season recruit has been out of action since suffering a broken leg in the opening friendly against Widnes.
But Saints coach Keiron Cunningham says Smith is ready to return in Friday night’s derby clash against the current bottom-placed side.
Cunningham said: “Matty will play. He has trained for a couple of weeks now and had the Catalans game been at home, rather than jumping on a plane, he would have played in that.
“He is fit, able and ready to go and we are looking forward to unleashing him on Friday.
“Matty is fine – he looks 100 per cent and you would not know what he has done.”
Cunningham confirmed that Mark Percival will continue with the place kicking duties for the time being.
