MORE than 400 fight fans turned out for an evening of Muay Thai kick boxing at Selwyn Jones Sports Centre in Newton-le-Willows.
Amateur and professional contests involving fighters from all over the UK, Ireland and Poland, were staged at the event – organised by local promotions company Fighting Machines – which saw 16 bouts in total take place.
Highlights included Nichola Seddon of Northwich overcoming Manchester’s Jess Lyons on points to claim the vacant WRSA Northern area title – and Poland’s Jaroslaw Poneta defeating Matt Fleet from Hanuman Gym, Darlington.
St Helens fighter Adam Penketh also appeared on the card.
Some of the proceeds generated from the event will go towards helping various local charities in the area.
