ST HELENS Chamber will hold a conference this Friday focused on the benefits for businesses of embracing digital technology.

Free to attend, the half-day event will bring together industry experts from Liverpool John Lennon Airport, Barclays, Tranect and O2, who will share their knowledge with digital technologies becoming more important in traditionally non-digital areas of the economy.

Clare Rogerson, digital marketing manager at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, will be among the guest speakers, talking about how to use online tools to deliver an excellent customer experience.

Clare will be joined by Graeme Brand, regional digital eagle of Barclays, who will talk about how businesses can protect themselves from cybercrime.

O2 will deliver a presentation on Digital Transformation and how it is essential in today’s business climate.

A pilot survey was conducted in St Helens by O2 to address the digital divide in Britain and over 10 weeks, the digital engagement in the borough was improved by 15 per cent, moving it 17 places up the Digital High Street Index.

Ruth Smart, managing director of Tranect, will deliver the final presentation on how ‘going digital’ has supported the growth of her business.

The event will also include a business exhibition and plenty of opportunities to network.

It takes place from 10am to 1.30pm at St Helens Chamber, on Friday (March 3) and is free to attend.

Exhibition stands are available for £20 plus VAT.
