RAILWAY enthusiasts are in for a treat as a popular annual event returns to Rainhill Village Hall.

The Rainhill Model Railway Club will bring its exhibition to the venue this weekend with hundreds of visitors again expected over the weekend.

The event will run at the village hall on Weaver Avenue from 10am to 5pm on Saturday (March 4) and 10am to 4.30pm on Sunday (March 5).

"Our shows continue to attract many hundreds of visitors each year over the two days and are designed to cater for enthusiasts and families alike," said Peter Hughes, of the Rainhill Model Railway Club.

"We will have 15 layouts in nine different scales on show, some of which are visiting us for the first time.

"We will also have five ‘show you how’ demonstrators, seven traders and our own club shop to tempt visitors into purchasing model railway items, accessories, tools, books, DVD and videos and more. There will be a full refreshment service available throughout the show."

There will be full disabled access to all areas of both floors of the venue.

Admission prices are £4.50 for adults, £3 for children and £12 for families (two adults and two children).

There will also be a free vintage bus service courtesy from The North West Museum of Road Transport running at hourly intervals between 11am and 3pm both days between the museum and venue.

People can have a return trip or visit the museum with admission payable at the door.
