Pilkington’s dominant second half display brushed aside a youthful Wythenshawe Dev Squad but it wasn’t without a fright.

For the first 35 mins they dominated the game and stunned Pilks by going 2-0 up within the first five mins.

Their high energy and physical play knocked Pilks out of their stride and it took 20 minutes before Pilks had a meaningful shot on goal. Taylor pulled one back after 23 mins before levelling things right on half time.

Pilks came out in the second half with much more energy and in a 10-minute spell Pilks turned this game on the head.

In the 60th min, a crossfield pass from Worral found Sephton who slotted neatly and a min later and he had his second with an easy tap in.

Taylor completed his hat-trick five minutes later with a lovely cushioned volley.

On 67 mins Smailes finished from a tight angle and Sephton should have completed his hat-trick but wasted a clear cut chance.

It was now the Captain’s turn to get in on the act. On 69 mins, Boylan converted a penalty after being fouled. Six mins later he netted his second of the game after Chris Tingay’s searching pass put him clear and with 5 mins to go, he managed to scramble Tingay’s cross over the line to complete his hat-trick.

The last action of the game saw Smailes get his brace after McBride put him clear to make it 10-2.
