PLANS have been outlined for the creation of up to 82 homes at a former industrial site.

The proposals, submitted by Gresham House, seek to create 67 houses and 15 apartments on land which forms part of the former Deacon Trading Estate in Earlestown.

The area is currently being used as a construction compound in an ongoing development of the wider former industrial estate.

Plans say homes will be of a variety of types and sizes, including two, three and four-bedroom houses and one and two-bedroom apartments.

The application added: "The proposed residential development will knit into and define new and existing streets and public open space, particularly the intersection of Sankey Street and Earle Street opposite the Griffin Hotel".

Public consultation on the plans lasts until Friday, March 3.
