AFTER 10 years together, countless shows across the country and three successful tours of the Czech Republic, St Helens band Cenacle have decided to call it a day.

Before they go, the new metal/prog band will rock town one last time, at the Citadel Arts Centre, on April 15.

After signing to Nameless/Faceless Records in late 2013, the band consisting of Si Consiglio on vocals and guitar, Ste Anders on guitar, bassist Benjah Ryan and Dan Parr on drums went on to release an album called 'The New Today' in March 2014 along with debut single and video 'Rise Up', which to date has had over 20,000 views on youtube.

Dan said: "We are finishing because to be successful in the music industry you need to devote so much time to it, and we all have young families now so it's getting harder and harder.

"We got to know each other at church and named the band 'Cenacle' as this is Greek for 'Upper Room' which is how Christians refer to the Holy Spirit."

He added: "We've had a few band members changes over the years and we had a particularly big following in the Czech Republic, and once supported Funeral for a Friend, one of the UK's biggest rock bands of the naughties.

"In years to come we'll all probably pick the music up again in one way or another."

Frontman Si urged people to come along to their final gig, saying: "There's something for everyone. We want to tell the audience our story and encourage them to keep going as they live out theirs."

Tickets are £8, available through the Citadel website citadel.org.uk.
