Attempted break-in at nursery
POLICE launched a hunt for burglars who attempted to break into a nursery building last night.
Shortly after 11pm on Monday police received reports of burglars trying to gain entry into the Wind in the Willows nursery on Liverpool Road, Haydock.
A police helicopter was seen around the area and officers with dogs were in attendance to help with the search.
The offenders did not gain entry to the nursery and made off empty-handed.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "It doesn't look like they gained entry and they made off.
"There was a search and the helicopter was used."
Anyone who has any information or saw anything is asked to call the non-emergency 101 number or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
