A DOG walker has spoken of his shock and disgust after finding six foxes apparently shot and left dead at the side of a road in Haydock.
Iain Pryce, who lives in Moor Lane, was out on Sunday morning (February 5) and discovered the animals in the verge of Lodge Lane.
He said the foxes had been left in a prominent position on the edge of a track near to the road.
He said: "They all look like they have been shot. It's totally disgusting.
"It's the first time I've seen anything like that. I was shocked - one looked very young; it could've been a family."
He said he did not believe a farmer had killed the animals.
"A farmer wouldn't leave them there like that. It doesn't look humane - it looks like it might have been done for sport."
He reported the incident to police, who referred him to the council to have the animals collected.
