A PETITION to ban Donald Trump from visiting the UK in a state visit has so far reached more than one million signatures, including more than 2,000 from St Helens, in response to the US leader's controversial immigration clampdown.
The petition, launched on the UK Government's petition page yesterday (Sunday) morning by Graham Guest, asks that President Trump be barred from making an official state visit "because it would cause embarassment to Her Majesty the Queen".
A total of 1,375,684 signatures have been received with 2,244 people living in St Helens having added their names.
The petition reads: "Donald Trump's well documented misogyny and vulgarity disqualifies him from being received by Her Majesty the Queen or the Prince of Wales.
"Therefore during the term of his presidency Donald Trump should not be invited to the United Kingdom for an official State Visit."
