THE mum-of-two kind hearted little girls is bursting with pride after they raised more than £300 for the homeless.

Phoebe and Charlotte Yeoman, eight and 10, were shocked at seeing homeless people shivering in the cold outside of the Tyrers building just before Christmas that they decided they wanted to raise money to help them.

They did this by making gingerbread houses which they then sold to their friends and family as well as online to raise a total for £350, which they handed over to the Salvation Army on Christmas Eve.

Their mum Caroline Yeoman, 42 from Burtonwood, said: “I am so proud of both of my girls for doing this, they were both really upset by seeing homeless people suffering in the cold weather and just decided to act.

“My youngest Phoebe was the most affected because when I put her to bed that night she said that she could not sleep and wanted to help them, so I told her that we would have to raise it for them and the next day they started.

“It was something that came from them and that has made me so happy because it shows how thoughtful they both are.

“Especially in the run up to Christmas when most children are thinking about what presents they want.

“It a shame that so many people are homeless nowadays, we don’t come into town that often we were only there that day to watch Aladdin at the Theatre Royal.

“I hope more people can do more to help the homeless, if my two girls can then it shows what people can do.”
