TOUCHING tributes have been paid to a paramedic who was found dead by police.

A body, believed to be that of Alan Gribben, was discovered in Halsnead Park, Whiston on Thursday (December 15).

Mr Gribben, who was 51, had been reported as missing from his home on Colombine Way, New Bold on Monday, December 12.

Police have said they do not believe his death to be suspicious.

Tributes to Alan have flooded in on social media since the news of his death.

Gemma Lawrenson wrote: "Really sad to hear this. Thoughts are with his family and friends. Hard enough to lose someone you love but two weeks before Christmas as well".

Sue Conley added: "Oh no this is so sad. All the people's lives he must have saved in his working career and now this. Thoughts to his family. RIP Alan".

Kathryn Holland wrote: "This is so sad. I hope he's at peace now but must be so hard for his family especially with Xmas and 2017 round the corner".

On the Star's website 'Ian L 68' wrote: "Such a lovely genuine guy. Always had a smile on his face. A tragic loss. Will be greatly missed by all. Rest in peace Al".
