BURGLARS broke through a window and stole bikes, cash and jewellery from a house in Beacon Road.

Detectives are appealing for information after the bikes were stolen on Thursday, November 24.

Offenders forced entry through a window to a garage and stole two bikes between 6.30 and 6.45pm.

The offenders then broke through a rear door into the house where they took cash and jewellery.

House-to-house enquiries were carried out and CCTV opportunities are being explored. A forensic examination of the house has also taken place.

DC Phil Poynton said: "Thankfully, incidents such as this are very rare and I want to reassure people that we are doing everything we can to trace and arrest the people responsible.

"I would ask anyone who recognises the bikes pictured and believes they may have seen them since 24 November or been offered them for sale to contact police.

"I would also urge neighbours in the area to consider if they saw anything which seemed suspicious before or after the burglary.

"If you have any information which could help us, get in touch. No matter how trivial you think that information is, it could prove vital to the investigation."

Detectives would urge anyone who has any information about this incident to contact 0151 777 6013 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
