PRIMARY schools from across the borough marked Remembrance Sunday by performing a moving dance to remember St Helens’ fallen heroes.
Two pupils from Merton Bank, Eaves Lane, Carr Mill, St Thomas of Canterbury, Ashurst, Garswood, Newton-le-Willows, St John Vianney and Robins Lane gathered at Lowe House Church, on North Road, St Helens, to dance and remember those who paid the ultimate price in conflicts of the 20th and 21st centuries.
The performance, depicting scenes of war, was danced to Lukas Graham's song Seven Years and was also attended by local historian Peter Harvey, a member of the St Helens Pals project team.
The project is dedicated to uncovering the history of the 11th Service Battalion South Lancashire Regiment, known as the St Helens Pioneers.
The St Helens Pals formed at the outset of the First World War and fought in the Somme offensive and at Arras, Messines and Passchendaele.
