WITH Hallowe’en almost upon us there is plenty of spooky goings-on around town.

Embark on a seasonal ‘zombie hunt’ at the Darkstar Laser Arena this weekend to get in the Hallowe’en spirit.

There will be zombie-themed games and a live horror arena set up for the event.

On Friday from 7pm to 11pm people of all ages can get involved, with a free pizza buffet also on offer. 

Tickets are £15 or £18 on the door, or £5 for a non-player. 
And from Saturday 29 to Monday 31 ages 12 plus can enjoy the interactive horror arena.

Meanwhile, a themed Hallowe’en party will take place on Saturday evening at the HoneyRose Foundation.

The adults’ party runs from 7pm to midnight at the Wishes Function Room there will be a disco, hot buffet, costume contest and special drinks offers. A children’s party takes place from 2pm on the same day.

And the Hudson Smokehouse will host a ‘Monster Mash’ event on Sunday.
The night will see music from Stillia, Megan Lunt, entertainment from the UC Crew and fancy dress.

Meanwhile, Citadel will see favourites Merry Hell return to the venue on Saturday, October 29 this will be the band’s fifth Merry Helloween show at the Citadel and promises to be a fantastic night of musical entertainment with some of the region’s finest folk musicians.

THERE will be plenty of fun for the family this Hallowe’en.

Go on a spooky fancy dress trail walk at Taylor Park to get in the ghoulish spirit this Friday.

Meeting at the Boat House at 5pm, people can bring torches, glow sticks and pumpkins for the frightful fun.

There is also a Spooky Welly Walk taking place at Sherdley Park on Saturday, October 29.

Organised by The Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, enjoy fun-filled activities including a Hallowe’en train, animal displays, puddle jumping and spooky storytelling. And at the end of the walk, every child will receive a medal and meet Samantha the Panther, the foundation mascot.

The event takes place from 11am to 5pm with tickets at £4 in advance or £5 on the day and under 2s go free.

Meanwhile, Morrisons on Baxters Lane will run pumpkin carving classes on Thursday 27 and Friday 28 between 3.30pm and 4.30pm. 

The ‘How To’ tutorials will see them creating masterpieces, sharing prepping and carving tips, answering questions, and providing insider ‘tricks of the trade’ for carving all sizes of pumpkins.

“We know that some of our customers dread the annual carving, so it we thought it useful to roll out our greengrocers - who can help turn their pumpkins into the perfect ghouls, ghosts, witches and Jack-o’-Lantern. We hope our classes, stencils and online tutorials will help make carving easier.”

And on Hallowe’en itself the Junction Pub in Rainford will see a special date for the venue’s baby music group. The event between 4.30pm and 7pm involves a Hallowe’en party for youngsters from birth to 10 years old with games, competitions, singalongs and cold buffet.
