ONLY the most fearless partygoers need attend... as St Helens' masonic hall is set to be transformed into a house of horrors.

The building, in Hall Street, will undergo a spooky transformation for Halloween event 'Nightmare on Hell Street'.

Rooms and corridors throughout the hall will be reimagined into a maze-like series of horror scenes, leading those who are brave enough to continue to the party room.

The party, organised by the St Helens Masonic Hall and charity Angel Starfish, starts at 7pm on Saturday, October 29, and the ghoulish revelling will go on long into the night.

A spokesperson for St Helens Masonic Hall said: "(This) is our annual Halloween party with all proceeds raised during the charity evening going to the Angel Starfish Project.

"Last year was a brilliant event and this year promises to be even bigger. Everyone is welcome and fancy dress is obligatory!"

Ann-Marie Owens, manager of Phoenix Apparel based in Corporation Buildings, is helping to dress the rooms, but remains tight-lipped on the horrors that await ticket-holders.

She said: "People need to walk through the horror scenes to reach the party. For those who make it, it should be a fantastic night. There will be a prize for best fancy dress, so dress to scare!"

There will also be entertainment courtesy of female singer Alessandria, a grand finalist in this year's Open Mic UK contest.

Tickets cost £15 - or £10 for those who bring along a shoebox containing gifts for a child which will go to the Angel Starfish Project.

Hot pot supper or vegan chilli is included in the ticket price.
