THE Lucem House community cinema has announced its autumn season of films to be shown at the venue.

Romantic drama The Reader starring Kate Winslett will kick off the season at the Corporation Street venue on Friday, October 7.

Meanwhile, Japanese drama Sweet Bean will show two weeks later on October 21.

The autumn showings will continue at the former Unitarian Church with Danish movie The Commune on November 18.

And classic musical romantic comedy White Christmas will be shown as the Christmas special on December 16.

Doors open at 6.45pm on the evening of each screening, with the film starting at 7.30pm.

Tickets are £5 and £4 per concession with a 15-minute interval at all screenings.

Meanwhile, members of the community cinema can enjoy Sunday screenings at 2pm for free on October 16, 30 and November 13.

Membership is open for September 2016 to August 2017 at £30 which includes concession rates for Friday nights and access to members-only screenings.
