GET your Handbags and Gladrags on and get ready for a show celebrating one of rock's biggest names.

'Some Guys Have All the Luck' tells the story of Sir Rod Stewart - one of the best-selling musical artists of all time - from street busker to international superstar.

As part of a UK tour, the show rocks into St Helens Theatre Royal this October.

The production, launched 45 years after Sir Rod wrote and recorded 'Maggie May', charts his career progression, highlighting some of the significant strokes of luck, as well as hard work and talent, which propelled the legend to stardom.

The show features well-loved songs from Rod Stewart's time with The Faces and a full concert production including classic sing-along hits including 'Maggie May', 'Baby Jane', 'Do Ya Think I'm Sexy', 'Sailing' and 'You're in My Heart'.

Fronted by Paul Metcalfe, an entertainer with over 25 years' experience, Paul slips into the persona of Rod Stewart, emulating his swaggering showmanship, raspy vocals, audience participation and sense of fun.

Paul said: "Rod Stewart's life has been graced with significant strokes of luck along the way and I've picked out some of these as key moments in the new show.

"Rod has made the most of this luck combining it with hard graft and talent and I feel as lucky to be performing his current songs as much as the classics like Maggie May."

Theatre manager Chantelle Nolan said: "We are delighted to welcome this show to St Helens as it is the ultimate celebration of the life, music and legend that is Rod Stewart; it's a real treat for Rod fans!"
