ST HELENS Council has confirmed the town hall clock and Steve Prescott Bridge will be lit blue on the day of Danny Fox's funeral.

Hundreds are expected at St John's CE Church in Ravenhead on Wednesday to pay their final respects to Daniel.

The council has agreed to a request for the town hall clock to turn blue on Wednesday morning.

The Steve Prescott Bridge, where a series of vigils took place following Danny's death, will also light up in the evening.

Danny was nicknamed 'blue eyes' by friends.

The funeral of the 29-year-old from Thatto Heath will be held on Wednesday, September 28 at noon, with the church service followed by committal at St Helens Crematorium Chapel.

Danny, a former doorman at St Helens bars Dreem and Zoo, who had more recently been working as a carer for autistic children, died after suffering a single stab wound to the upper torso on North John Street during the early hours of Friday, September 2.

The tragedy shocked people across St Helens – and events held in Danny's memory have included a balloon release in Thatto Heath Park, a charity walk through the town and the bridge lighting up in blue for three nights.

Danny, who was known as 'blue eyes' and 'foxy' to friends, was well known to the town's tattooing community and had appeared on e4 programme Tattoo Fixers. After his death, tattoo studios in St Helens took part in community efforts to raise funds in his memory by creating special fox designs.

It is thought the number of mourners attending his funeral at the Crossley Road church will exceed the building's 250 capacity.

Meanwhile, the SPF bridge and town hall clock will be lit blue again from 8am on the day of the funeral until the following morning due following the request of a family friend.

Leighton William Holt, 20, from Stockbridge Village in Liverpool, has been charged with murder.
