EMERGENCY services were called to extinguish a fire in a car on Sutton Park in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
Emergency services were called to Sutton Park at 1.30am to reports of a Renault Laguna being on fire at the location.
The fire was extinguished and no one was injured as a result of this incident.
It is the second reported car fire in the Sutton area in a week.
A Merseyside Police spokesman said: "Officers attended and a search of the area was carried out. House to house enquiries are continuing and CCTV opportunities are being explored.
"Anyone with information is asked to contact Merseyside Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111."
A Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service spokesman added: "We had one engine out there.
"They were on scene just before 1.25am until 1.55am. They put the fire out using a one high pressure hose reel."
