The trial of St Helens South MP Marie Rimmer, who is accused of assaulting a YES campaigner, on the day of the Scottish independence referendum has been adjourned until later this year.
The 69-year-old is charged with kicking Patricia McLeish at the entrance of Shettleston Community Centre on September 18, 2014.
The part-heard trial at Glasgow Sheriff Court was due to resume today but Ms Rimmer’s solicitor advocate Liam Ewing was not available.
He has represented the MP for St Helens and Whiston at her trial on earlier occasions and the court heard he is currently involved in a High Court trial.
Sheriff Kenneth Hogg adjourned the trial until November.
