A 42-YEAR-OLD from St Helens has been released pending further enquiries as part of an investigation into an alleged hit-and-run in on a seven-year-old boy.
The man had been arrested and questioned on suspicion of causing injury by dangerous driving, failing to stop, possession of Class A and Class B drugs and possession of an offensive weapon.
The boy, who was riding a bike, sustained minor facial injuries and is being kept in hospital for observations.
The alleged hit-and-run happened at 4.50pm on Sunday when a report was received of a collision on Brookway Lane, Parr involving a Nissan Terrano estate.
The driver of the vehicle allegedly made off from the scene.
