A RAINFORD author will be signing copies of her first novel in a St Helens cafe this weekend.

So those who love a page-turner can grab a cappuccino and join Cheryl Baily Clarke at Caffe Roma, in George Street, on Saturday (August 27) afternoon.

Cheryl, 52, published 'Alone' - the story of "a woman of a certain age" who has to start life over again after a series of tough blows - in January.

The mother-of-two has also recently started a tour of libraries, giving talks and readings.

Already at the editing stage with her completed second novel 'The Fortuneteller', Cheryl said the reception for Alone so far has been fantastic.

She said: "It's doing really well and has had positive reviews. It's currently sold out on Amazon - but there are more on order!

"I'm my own agent and I'm now focusing on getting copies into the bookshops."

She said her "very different" second book is about a haunting, reincarnation and a love triangle.

She added: "I hope to meet lots of people on Saturday. Those who come along can and buy a signed copy of the book."

Cheryl, who is also a trained Reiki practitioner, started writing romantic comedy Alone, which follows the fortunes of a woman who finds herself alone after her children have flown the nest and she discovers her husband is having an affair, in 2013

She says she has always been writing but until 2013 had never shown anyone. In the past she worked as a pre-school teacher and she ran a nightclub in Belgium - where she brought up her children Natalie and Garry - for 12 years.

The book signing will take place between 2.30 and 5pm.
