BOSSES say changes to St Helens bus services from September 4 will create a 'simpler, clearer network'.
Merseytravel’s alterations include a new direct service from St Helens town centre to Haydock industrial estate, a service every two hours from St Helens town centre to Ormskirk and Edge Hill University and an improved Sunday morning provision between Widnes and St Helens with a regular hourly service (17 service).
Here's a rundown of everything you need to know:
12 St Helens Bus Station to St Helens Retail Park.
Service will start later and finish earlier with a new Sunday daytime service introduced operating hourly.
17/17B St Helens Bus Station to Widnes via St Helens Hospital, Clock Face and Sutton Manor.
Service will operate hourly from approx. 8am instead of 2pm on Sundays
17B renumbered to operate as a 17
20 St Helens Town Centre to Earlestown via Haydock
Monday to Saturday daytime will now operate every 30 minutes rather than every 20 minutes
30/30E NEW SERVICE: Monday to Saturday daytime to operate every 20 minutes
Evenings and Sundays hourly (30E)
Sutton Manor to Chain Lane via St Helens Bus Station.
Evenings and Sundays 30E will operate between Chain Lane and St Helens Bus Station
The route of the service will be similar to the 36 between Chain Lane and St. Helens but will no longer serve Islands Brow but will instead operate along Hinckley Road.
To the south of St Helens Bus Station, the route will follow the current 33 route to Sutton Manor
32 Clinkham Wood to Clock Face, Four Acre via St Helens Bus Station.
Daytime frequency has been standardised to every 20 minutes.
Evenings and Sunday service revised to be hourly to Sutton Manor & hourly to Clockface
The route also no longer serves Four Acre. The 30, 17 &140 will serve this area instead.
32A Clinkham Wood to Clock Face via St Helens Bus Station.
Daytime frequency standardised to every 20 minutes
33 Sutton Heath to Sutton Manor via St Helens Bus Station.
St Helens to Sutton Heath will still be served by the 33 route every 15 minutes
Daily evening 33 service to be introduced operating hourly replacing the withdrawn 196 in Thatto Heath.
The 30 bus will serve the Sutton Manor area instead
34 St Helens Bus Station to Leigh Bus Station. via Earlestown and Newton-le-Willows Station.
Evenings and Sundays will now become an hourly service
34A St Helens to Vulcan Village via Earlestown
An hourly service has been introduced at evenings and on Sundays
35/35E Gillars Green to St Helens Junction via St Helens Bus Station.
Service is rerouted to operate as per the withdrawn 35A route
No longer serving Knowsley Road between Ellison Drive and Rivington Road.
Evenings and Sundays 35E introduced between Gillars Green & St Helens Town Centre operates every 30 minutes
The 153 will serve Knowsley Road during the day instead

141 St Helens Bus Station to Newton-le- Willows via St Helens Hospital
Monday to Saturday daytime service unchanged but evenings and Sundays the route will no longer serve St Helens Hospital.
St Helens Hospital: 32, 17 will serve this area
147 WITHDRAWN: St Helens junction to St Helens Bus Station via Fleet Lane
Parr: 31,140 will serve this area
Sutton: 140 will serve this area
152 St Helens Bus Station to Rainford via Crank.
All journeys are extended to operate to Ormskirk, via Edge Hill University.
Increased frequency - to Omskirk Monday to Saturday operating every two hours, rather than three times a day.
153 NEW SERVICE: St Helens Bus Station to Norley Drive via Knowsley Road.
Monday to Saturday daytime every two hours
156 St Helens Bus Station to Garswood via Old Whint and Liverpool Road.
Revised route will operate via Haydock Industrial Estate. It will extend beyond Garswood to Ashton and beyond St Helens Bus Station to Waterside Village.
