A TEENAGE driver was taken to hospital with injuries after a car accident in Sutton Leach.
The one-vehicle accident, involving a blue Chevrolet close to the junction to Mill Lane and Leach Lane opposite the Wheatsheaf pub.
A signpost was damaged during the incident.
A woman, who was in her late teens was taken to hospital with injuries including whiplash, burns on her shoulders, bruising to her stomach and damage to an arm.
Another woman who was also in the car sustained severe burns on her neck and shoulder and severe whiplash which required hospital treatment.
A man who was also in the car also sustained whiplash.
The accident took place at around 8pm on Saturday (July 30).
A Merseyside Police spokesperson said: "The ambulance service reported it to us and the fire service also attended.
"There were pedestrians on scene and there was damage to a sign which meant St Helens Council attended.
"The scene was all cleared by 9.50pm."
