PARAMEDICS were called to attend to a person who collapsed in the town centre yesterday afternoon.
Shortly after 5.30pm paramedics were seen on Bickerstaffe Street treating a patient who had collapsed.
A spokesperson for North West Ambulance said: "We got a call at 5.37pm to Bickerstaffe Street. We sent two rapid response vehicles and an ambulance to the scene and the patient was taken to Whiston Hospital."
