POLICE are hunting two robbers who made off with a quantity of cash on a motorbike after threatening staff at a taxi office.

On Tuesday afternoon (July 26) just before 3.30pm officers were called to All Black Cabs Ltd on Warrington Road, Prescot to a report that two men were demanding cash.

After being handed money they left the scene on an orange off-road motorbike along Wycherley Street.

Both of them wore motorbike helmets and protective clothing.

No-one was injured during the incident.

A police investigation has been launched and house to house enquiries were carried out and CCTV opportunities are being explored by police.

Detective Sergeant Tom Clarke said: "Thankfully incidents of this nature are few and far between in Prescot and no-one was injured, but staff at the taxi office were left shaken by what happened.

"The force is absolutely determined to crack down on business robberies across Merseyside and we are continuing to run a range of proactive initiatives to help them improve security.

"I can reassure people we are doing everything we can to trace and arrest those involved. I would urge anyone who may have seen anyone acting suspiciously before or after the incident near All Black Cabs to get in touch.

"Warrington Road is a busy road and I would urge anybody who was out and about there this afternoon to think if anything they saw at around 3.25pm seems suspicious in hindsight."
