THIS is one of the splendid views that has helped GreenAcres in Rainford maintain its reputation as a leading park.
The woodland burial ground is among 1,686 parks and green spaces that received the Green Flag Award – the mark of a quality park or green space.
The award, now celebrating its 20th year, recognises and rewards the best parks and green spaces across the country. It is a sign to the public that the space boasts the highest possible standards, is beautifully maintained and has excellent facilities.
Diane Fusco, customer services advisor at GreenAcres, said: “This award recognises and highlights that people in St Helens and the surrounding areas are benefiting from a green space of the very highest quality."
Diane collected the honour and was accompanied by John Barlow, a GreenAcres volunteer who has been supporting the site since his wife was laid to rest at the park in 2013.
