THE chief executive of a wellbeing project who made it his mission to help with mental health issues is delighted the organisation has been listed as one of the top in the country.

Wellbeing Enterprises CIC has made the New Radicals list, a search led by Nesta, the UK’s innovation foundation, and The Observer newspaper to find the top people and organisations offering innovative ways to tackle social challenges.

It is the third time the list has been made following its launch in 2012 then being run again in 2014.

The project, co-launched by Mark Swift, from Haydock, offers health and wellbeing services in St Helens, Knowsley and Halton and has been operating for 11 years.

Its mission is to create healthier, happier communities by providing projects that promote wellbeing and build resilience. They have directly supported more than 18,000 people to date.

Co-founder and chief executive Mark said: "We’re thrilled to have been included in the New Radicals list. I’d like to thank all our staff, volunteers and supporters over the years who have helped us to spread our wellbeing message”.

Mark, 34, added: “We’re creating a social movement for wellbeing, by helping communities to come together during difficult times and supporting people to reconnect with their skills and talents."
