A WOMAN has been taken to hospital with serious injuries by air ambulance after getting her hair stuck in a piece of machinery.

Ambulance and fire crews were called to Normans Road in Bold just before 3pm this afternoon. 

A spokesperson from Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service said: "We were called at 2.50pm this afternoon to Normans Road and we had two fire engines and the fire and rescue team. 

"There was a piece of machinery involved and a person was trapped, conscious and breathing and conveyed to hospital."

A spokesperson from North West ambulance confirmed that a woman had been transported to Wythenshawe Hospital with serious injuries.
