AN ANIMAL lover from Parr has launched a Facebook page in a bid to track down her lost ferret Buzz, who she says escaped from a new hutch.

Sadie Dearden, 20, of Pennine Drive, said three-year-old Buzz has now been missing for a week and a half, after getting out of the hutch some time on Wednesday, June 15.

However, she believes he may be in the area being looked after, after a resident from the neighbourhood told her they saw two boys, in their mid-teens, pick up a ferret matching Buzz's description and handle it sensitively, just around the corner from where she lives.

Sadie, who lives with her boyfriend and works full-time, said: "I was told one of the two boys took his jacket off and used it to wrap the ferret up and carried it gently - so I'm hoping he is being well looked after somewhere.

"He is micro-chipped so if anyone takes him to a vet they'll be able to identify us."

Buzz is described as fawn coloured, with legs that are darker than his body, dark circles around his eyes, with a diamond-like white mark on his chest.

She added: "There is a Facebook page called Make Buzz Famous - so hopefully more people will be able to recognise him and bring him back home where he belongs.

"We'd bought him a new hutch and he must have got out while we were out. He's really friendly and we miss him."
