POLICE are investigating a suspected arson attack that saw a car engulfed in flames on a busy residential street.
Firefighters were called to a car fire on Irwin Road, Sutton just after 9.10pm on Wednesday, June 22.
Two fire engines attended the blaze, which involved a vehicle well alight on the driveway of a property.
Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the car fire and dampened down the front of the house using hose reels.
A spokesperson for Mersey Fire and Rescue service said: "The cause of the fire is suspected to be deliberate ignition."
