ARMED police were called to a house this afternoon after a man approached officers while carrying a knife.
Merseyside Police say that shortly after noon a civil enforcement area attended an address on Litherland Crescent in Haresfinch to remove a car.
In a statement the force said an argument followed and police patrols were called. Police added the man was "seen to approach officers in possession of a knife".
The police statement added "the area was contained by armed officers to ensure safety of the public."
At around 3.15pm, two men from the address were arrested for public order offences and are in the process of being taken into custody for questioning.
A LARGE police presence is stationed at a housing estate this afternoon as police respond to an incident.
Witnesses report up to seven police cars pulled up on Litherland Crescent, Haresfinch.
