POLICE have confirmed that a woman who died in a collision on Tuesday was a 47-year-old jogger from Billinge.


FLOWERS and messages of condolence have been left at the scene of an accident in which a woman died on Tuesday.

The woman, who police say was in her late 20s to early 30s, died at the scene of a collision with a Peugeot 406 at the junction of Birchley Road and Martindale Road shortly before 12.30pm.

Among the pile of flowers one of the notes said: "Love and miss you Alison. You changed my life so much. Always in my heart."

Another read: "Goodnight. God bless. A very special person gone too soon."

The woman has not been formally identified.

The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is helping police with their enquiries but has not been arrested.
