STEVE Prescott’s sons Taylor and Koby lay the first brick at the home of Luke Bryan which he says will transform his life.

The Steve Prescott Foundation (SPF) are financing his move to a newly adapted home in Haydock thanks to a donation of £80,000 via the Rugby League Benevolent Fund.

Luke, 36, was paralysed from the neck down following a neck injury while playing rugby league for Haydock under-18s in 1996.

The Rugby League Benevolent Fund, one of the charities the foundation supports, helps players who have been affected by serious injury.

The road to Luke’s new home began when Steve visited the home he currently shares with his mother Christine in Clipsley Lane.

Through the foundation Steve was determined to provide Luke with a home which would suit his specific needs and his sons were only too pleased to help start the next chapter in Luke’s life.
