LIZZIE Jones will sing for the Langtree Park crowd ahead of tonight's World Club Series clash between Saints and the Sydney Roosters.

The widow of Keighley Cougars player Danny Jones, who passed away from an undiagnosed heart condition last May, will perform at all three World Club Series matches this weekend.

She will sing 'I vow to thee my country' before the teams take to the field for tonight's match.

Lizzie is spearheading a new campaign to raise funds for equipment that could make the difference between life and death at rugby league clubs across the country, launching the Danny Jones Defibrillator Fund.

Following his tragic death, Lizzie successfully campaigned for cardiac screening to become mandatory at every Championship and League 1 club, as it already was for Super League teams.

She has also joined forces with the RFL Benevolent Fund to raise money to create a fund that will provide assistance to hundreds of community clubs and junior teams across the country to purchase a defibrillator.

Each costs around £1,000 each and provide potentially life-saving treatment to anyone suffering a heart attack.

"I am really honoured to be singing at all three World Club Series games," said Lizzie, who sang at last year's Challenge Cup final.

"Each one will be a fantastic occasion. I've never been to any of the games before, I have watched them on television but this will be my first time attending so I'm not only looking forward to singing but also watching.

"It's lovely to perform at all the different stadiums and I am sure the crowd at each of the games will be in good spirits and excited to watch a great series."
